OVERVIEW
Apart from the real painting on canvas, I also enjoy making digital artworks. I learnt Photoshop on Youtube by myself and loved to put my creativity into practice with it.
In 2017, I attend a class named Introduction to Aesthetics. The teacher introduced a topic of "elements of form" every week and asked us to make corresponding design works as homework. Here are some works I made during this class. You can see in the following pictures.

Introduction to Aesthetics
Unity and Variety
Using watercolor to draw a series of pictures that represent different kinds of plants. Because all paintings are plants, there is unity and different types of plants stand for the "Variety"
Emphasis and Balance
Taking the picture of the moon at night and composited it with the building. Since all the buildings are point to the center, I put the moon there to on behalf of the theme, "emphasis"
Scale and proportion
Composed from different photos, including the moon, the lamp, the man, the cloud, the cracked floor and the dark sky. Using Color Dodge Blend Mode to create a warm light that guide the lost. Intentionally distort the size of each objects to be closer to the topic.
Illusion of space
Composed from different photos, including the mountains, the lamp, the woman, the wooden bridge, and the starry night. Try to create mysterious environment as if there is a black hole in front of us.
Line and Shape
Using photoshop to transform a street view photo I took in Japan into dots. Although the whole picture is full of circle shape, we still can tell it was a street with yellow trees along.
Illusion of motion
Take this photo with long exposure on the pedestrian overpass at night to create a illusion of motion. Using photoshop to make a difference between black and white and color to focus on the traffic flow which is the part of dynamic.
Color and Texture
For the final work, we have to design the poster for our class project exhibition at school based on the topic "Color and Texture". I chose the color green for the main color and interspersed with different green materials on the background to make poster have different textures.
